Universities – the lion’s share of innovation

Here’s Part 2 of our bumper special report on universities.

And it’s just as exciting as Part 1. But even bigger!

If universities have the lion’s share of intelligence, research capability and resources you’d expect them to lead the rest of the nation’s built environment in sustainable design, innovation and facility management. And at their best they do.

This feature proves Australia’s tertiary sector knows that their campuses signal talent and excellence to their global marketplace. There is also coverage of schools which are likewise rising to the modern challenges of education.

But there are also challenges and this feature is not just a celebration of the great, but a warts and all look at the reality of managing such massive facilities. It’s in the listening and learning that we finally get things right. So huge thanks to those who openly shared their views and insights.

Huge thanks to our lead sponsor Charter Hall, which is forging a new asset class from the opportunities that are emerging from this changing sector, and also to supporting sponsors Curtin University and Monash University, both of which have embarked on exceptional sustainability programs.

We hope you enjoy our new microsite platform for this special report, designed to make navigation easier and faster.
