Here’s an alternative way to protest by the creative community the area around Bell Station in Preston in Melbourne’s inner north suburb of Preston.

A collection of 500 households around the station on have banded together to protest plans that will see traffic funnelled through quiet neighbourhood streets to a new station carpark for no good reason.

According to the group, the government’s plans will not only disrupt the safety and amenity of the neighbourhood but will also be inconvenient for motorists trying to access the carpark.

The disappointing plans appeared in lockdown, leaving the community group with limited options to make their voices heard.

So some musical individuals adapted Pet Shop Boys – Go West with some catchy new lyrics urging the pollies to see reason.

It’s a great way to get a message across, attracting over 240 reactions on Facebook. It’s well worth a listen!
