David Pethick has been appointed to the new director of business development role with energy technology company Wattwatchers.
Mr Pethick is the business’s first representative to be based in Melbourne, which the company said was important to expand its reach and engagement at “an important point in its growth phase”.
For the past three years, he has been consulting to the smart metering industry. Before that he was group manager, portfolio sales for Origin Energy, responsible for a portfolio of customers delivering over $2 billion in annual revenue.
Wattwatchers’ chief executive Gavin Dietz said Mr Pethick’s appointment would expand capabilities in new energy and “behind the meter” markets.
“David brings with him a wealth of experience and excellent industry contacts,” Mr Dietz said.
“He knows the utility sector from inside and out, he’s run a large commercial and industrial energy management portfolio, and he has a deep understanding of the complexities of the metering sector.”
