Commercial solar engineering, procurement and construction group, Solgen Group (which owns Solgen Energy), has merged with energy-efficiency and residential solar PV installation company Mark Group.
Announced today, Mark Group’s acquisition of Solgen Group will see the two companies operate as a full-merged entity.
Solgen founders David Naismith and Joe Coco will remain as directors of Solgen Group and join the senior executive team of the combined group.
By joining together, it is hoped that the companies will become “the market leader in solar PV for Australia”, across the residential, commercial and industrial segments.
David Brown, chief executive of the Mark Group said: “This merger combines two great businesses with talented people, great customer solutions and a suite of high quality brands.
“Together, we provide a scale and level of expertise that allows us to deliver on our strategic intent to be the leading provider of quality renewable solutions in the region.”
Mr Naismith added: “Today’s announcement is exciting news for the Solgen team, our customers and our business partners. We share the passion and vision of the Mark Group team to be the leading renewable energy provider in the region.
“The combination of these businesses immediately enhances the scale and capability across the group. Our combined industry experience positions the group for significant growth opportunities as the solar industry matures to become a critical element of the mainstream energy market.”
