Brief – 3 November 2010 – The Australian Solar Energy Society will join the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and solar industry leaders tomorrow in protest of the NSW Government’s decision to slash the Solar Bonus Scheme’s gross feed-in tariff.

Taking place at Sydney Town Hall at 10am, the rally hopes to convey the effect that the NSW Government’s decision to cut the gross feed-in tariff from 60 to 20 cents per kilowatt hour has had on the state’s solar industry.

According to the the Australian Solar Energy Society, solar businesses are reporting that they have lost 80 to 90 per cent of their work and have already begun laying off staff since the NSW Government announced its decision which went into immediate effect on 27 October.
