The Lord Mayors and Mayors of Australia’s major cities will meet at a summit in Canberra today to deliver a position paper to the Federal Government outlining “actions to secure the productive, sustainable and liveable future of their cities.”

Key issues for the federal and local government decision makers will be climate change and a growing and ageing population. Speakers will include Anthony Albanese, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government;  Terry Moran, Secretary, Dept of Prime Minister and Cabinet; Mike Mrdak, Secretary, Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government; Lord Mayor of Darwin Graeme Swayer; Lord Mayor of Newcastle John Tate, Co-Chair of CCCLM’s Major Cities Working Group;  Campbell Newman,  Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Clover Moore,Lord Mayor of Sydney, Lisa Scaffidi,  Lord Mayor of Perth
