About the role
This exciting position reflects the City of Parramatta’s commitment to accelerate its leadership and delivery of environmental outcomes through its strategic partnerships, projects, advice and advocacy. It presents an opportunity to work within Council’s busy Environmental Outcomes Team (City Strategy Unit) to deliver the objectives of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2017 https://www.cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/recreation-environment/environmental-sustainability-strategy and related plans and policies.
The Environmental Outcomes Project Officer will be involved in a wide range of exciting, challenging and meaningful sustainability activities relating to the ‘built environment’ such as energy and water efficiency, renewable energy, recycled water and urban heat.
About the person
As the ideal candidate you will have a passion for improving environmental outcomes combined with a high level of communication and project management skills, and commitment to work as part of a team.
You will also have the knowledge and negotiation skills to advocate effectively for environmentally sustainable outcomes. You will have strong set of technical competencies and experience to bring to the position resulting from a background in environmental sustainability or natural resource management, environmental engineering, built environment or similar fields.
What’s on offer
This is a full time temporary position for a period of one year with a possibility of extension. We are offering an attractive salary starting from $88,923 p.a. plus Super. The City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which can be accessed by the successful candidate.
