Brief – 26 October 2010 – Bovis Lend Lease has won the GIO Workers Compensation Award for Excellence in Occupational Health & Safety at the 2010 National Safety Awards of Excellence for its work developing the Global Minimum Requirements and Australian Means & Methods system.
Held in Sydney earlier this month by the National Safety Council of Australia and GIO Workers Compensation, the awards recognised the two guidelines released by Lend Lease in 2008 which set a benchmark for a minimum standard of acceptance.
Lend Lease also won the Best Implementation of a Specific OHS Management System Award.
Lend Lease managing director, Australia, Tony Costantino said the guidelines were about improving safety performance.
“We are continually looking to introduce innovative systems and implement safety practices that go above and beyond industry best practice standards to ensure we consistently raise the bar when driving improved safety performance,” Mr Costantino said.
