She brings extensive experience in sustainable systems processes, sustainability audits, green building rating systems, and sustainable architecture education. In her current role, she develops and leads place-centric interventions that shape sustainable futures at the intersection of people, place, and technology
Sarah Barns is undertaking a Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship at RMIT, where she investigates emerging organisational sensibilities and place strategies that support platform civics in an era of climate vulnerability. As a multidisciplinary scholar-practitioner, she focuses on how digital technologies shape responsive urban design and drive place-based strategies for climate resilience.
