Property group GPT has announced the appointment of Vickki McFadden to its board as non-executive director, with the intention for her to replace outgoing chair Rob Ferguson.
Mr Ferguson this week announced he would resign as chair at the May annual general meeting. In a statement, GPT said it would seek securityholder approval at the AGM to install Ms McFadden as the company’s new chair.
Ms McFadden has 18 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance and corporate law, and was previously managing director, investment banking at Merrill Lynch.
She is also a current chair of Eftpos Payments Australia Limited, and a director at Tabcorp Holdings Limited, Newcrest Mining Limited and Myer Family Investments Pty Limited.
Mr Ferguson said Ms McFadden’s appointment would strengthen the capabilities of the board.
“The broad range of skills and experience Ms McFadden has developed during her time in investment banking, and through her current and previous board-level positions, will be a valuable addition to the skills and experience of the board,” he said.
