Dr Therese Flapper

Arup has appointed Dr Therese Flapper as Australasia water skills leader and transport and resources leader in the ACT, based in Canberra.

Dr Flapper has more than 27 years’ experience bringing infrastructure from policy and planning through to procurement and delivery across the built environment. She is also deputy chair of Consult Australia’s Canberra Regional Committee.

“Water security will remain an important issue as our urban centres and regional cities continue to grow and put pressure on our finite resources,” Dr Flapper said. “Arup, in partnership with its clients, is in a unique position to take advantage of the opportunities that are derived from urbanism and growth – and I look forward to helping Arup and our clients take on this challenge to serve communities.”

Arup Australasia water leader Daniel Lambert welcomed the appointment.

“As a technical expert and trusted advisor, Therese brings a fresh perspective to our growing water business and to our burgeoning offering in Canberra,” Mr Lambert said. “This will ensure we are best placed to support our clients and communities into the future.”
