Building management software company Switch Automation has appointed sustainability professional Christina Hughes to national accounts manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Ms Hughes has more than 10 yearsโ€™ experience across commercial, industrial and retail property, and before moving to Switch Automation worked in climate change and sustainability services for EY, was the CitySwitch national program manager and held a number of sustainability positions within Stockland.

โ€œThis year we hired several senior client-facing staff in both the US and Australia,โ€ Switch Automation chief executive Deb Noller said.

โ€œThe fact that talented professionals with highly tuned market insight elect to join Switch speaks volumes about our platform, team and future. Christinaโ€™s deep knowledge of the Australian reporting for NABERS, NGERS and Green Star, as well as public sustainability benchmarks such as GRESB, DJSI and CDP is monumental for Switch. We could not be more delighted to attract someone of Christinaโ€™s calibre to our team.โ€

Ms Hughes will lead Switch Automationโ€™s account management team in Australia and New Zealand, and bring her expertise to bear in existing Smart City projects in Seattle, the US and Wellington, NZ.

โ€œChristina Hughes is one of those rare people who thinks strategically and implements accurately,โ€ CBRE senior managing director, asset services Amanda Steele said. โ€œShe has excellent client skills and demonstrates that Switch continues to be a force to be reckoned with.โ€
