Privately-owned engineering consultancy Norman Disney & Young has announced that chief operating officer Stuart Fowler will assume the role of chief executive from March 2015, succeeding Ian Hopkins.
Mr Hopkins will remain as a director on the NDY board until December 2015 to assist with Mr Fowler’s succession. He has been with NDY for 40 years, and has held the position of chief executive for 19 of those years.
Mr Fowler joined NDY as a graduate engineer, has been a manager of both Australian and New Zealand offices for the firm, and was Australian regional director before taking up the CFO role.
“When I joined NDY as a graduate in 1988, the firm was a boutique Australian operation with one New Zealand office,” Mr Fowler said.
“Under Ian’s leadership, NDY has expanded into new geographies, embraced new market sectors and grown its global talent pool in excess of 500 employees. I am looking forward to building on Ian’s legacy and adding the next chapter to the successful NDY story.”
