Rory Martin has been snapped up by Frasers Property Australia after leading the dwp|suters entry that was part of the winning team for Frasersโ Living Building Challenge Brickworks competition.
He was previously research and sustainability leader at dwp|suters and has held previous roles with Inhabit Group and Spowers Architects.
Mr Martinโs new role is sustainability manager residential in an appointment that expands the Frasers sustainability team to seven, including general manager sustainability Paolo Bevilacqua.
Mr Bevilacqua said heโd been watching the progress of Mr Martinโs career for several years, ever since he was declared a Future Green Leader by the Green Building Council of Australia in 2014.
โI was personally introduced to Rory back then and Iโve kept in touch with him. Obviously I worked with him as part of the Living Building Challenge design collaboration and Iโve been impressed with work heโs done and events heโs presented at,โ Mr Bevilacqua said.
โHeโs established himself as a bit of a thought leader.โ
Mr Bevilacqua said the team was changing focus, becoming more embedded with its units rather than working from a corporate head office angle.
โWeโre restructuring so the resourcing now is to be more integrated in the business rather than a corporate team.โ
He said the business now had a โkey direction and strategy around sustainabilityโ.
The winning team at Brickworks also included Aurecon, CJ Arms, Reedbed technology, Ecoharvest, Biomimicry Australia, Future Food and WATPAC collaboration for โThe Difference is Livingโ.
This entry was also a finalist in the Peopleโs Choice Awards.
