Anita Hoskins has been appointed as the new general manager of Real Utilities, which supplies Climate Active-certified carbon neutral energy as the in-house energy retailing business of Frasers. She has also held the position of chief financial officer at Frasers Property Australia since 2020.
She takes over from Paolo Bevilacqua who is moving to become the new group head of sustainability of Singapore-headquartered multinational real estate company Frasers Property Limited.
Loreta Brazukas is the new Australian sustainability lead at Norman Disney and Young after holding the position of director of sustainability at Jones Lang LaSalle since 2021. She previously worked at Cundall and Floth in ecologically sustainable development.
After an extensive search, the Australian Institute of Architects has appointed a new chief executive. Cameron Bruhn, University of Queensland dean of architecture will take over from interim chief executive Barry Whitmore on 11 April 2023.
Former chief executive Julia Cambage resigned from the role in November 2021.
Bruhn was editorial director of Architecture Media from 2009 to 2018, holds a practice-based PhD from RMIT University, and is the author of several books in architecture.
Board chair and national council director, Peter Hobbs said: “During what was a rigorous recruitment that produced a number of high-quality candidates, Cameron impressed us with his grasp of our organisation, of the key issues that our profession faces, and with his sense of energy and optimism that he will bring to the role”.
“Cameron is going to bring a special energy to the Institute,” he added.
“Cameron will be an excellent voice for the issues most important to the Institute – inclusivity, sustainability, and the public recognition of the significant role Architects play in shaping our community”.
Senior sustainability professional in renewable energy infrastructure Claire Morgan has moved over from NABERS to hold a new project management role at EnergyCo.
During her three years at NABERS she worked across international policy, training, strategic communications, and governance.
She will now work to deliver critical electricity infrastructure with the Hunter transmission project team.
Rachel Haley has moved from manager of the Sustainable Homes program at the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to hold a position as director of national energy performance strategy at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
After four years at the department of communities and justice working in reducing homelessness, Matthew Sander has returned to work in the energy and climate change policy space. He will take the role of manager of energy market transition at the Office of Energy and Climate Change at NSW Treasury.
