Sydney based software aggregator, Software Combined Group has acquired Hero Software, a software company offering NatHERS compliance measuring and advisory, marking its ninth acquisition since it started in 2020.
The Brisbane based Hero Software provides an โeasy to useโ energy modelling platform for building assessors and raters to access energy consumption information for new dwellings and advises whether a dwelling meets the 7-star energy efficiency ratings required by the National Construction Code, as well as how to improve the rating.
Founder of the company, Nick Bishop, said the acquisition will allow the smaller company to access experienced support and more resources and likely wider reach.
Software aggregators are entities that collect and combine several software services, information and resources into one usable tool or software for their clients โ meaning the home energy rating tool will now be available to all Software Combined Group clients.
The aggregator said that the home energy rating tool played an important role in making private property more efficient and reducing carbon emissions and will be more important than ever as regulators are increasingly focus on thermal and environmental factors of new constructions.
โWe are proud to have already played a role in driving software-based innovation to make it easier for Australian houses to be built in a more sustainable, comfortable, and ultimately, more valuable way,โ Bishop said.
โI am looking forward to continuing to work with our customers and to drive the next stage of our growth under the Software Combined umbrella, particularly with more changes expected in the regulatory and compliance environment for housing.โ
Software Combined co founder and director Stefan Jansen said, โThere is no doubt that with expectations of a surge in dwelling construction in Australia over the next decade, and the growing importance of compliance to sustainable energy standards, Hero Software is well positioned for further growth.
โWe are excited that Hero Software is joining Software Combined, not only because it will mean the company can benefit from our resources and experience, but that it will mean Nick can continue to lead the company and focus on accelerating innovation for a more sustainable building industry.โ
