Former Consult Australia policy and government relations head Jonathan Cartledge has been hired by the Green Building Council of Australia to lead industry and government relations.
“Jonathan has more than 15 years’ experience in senior policy, strategy and project management roles, and understands the needs of our industry and how to work with governments to achieve results,” GBCA chief executive Romilly Madew said.
“He’s passionate about driving the sustainability agenda in Australia and we are excited to be welcoming him to our team.”
The appointment is in line with a new and as yet to be publicly released strategic plan, which Ms Madew said aimed to “drive a carbon positive industry, foster liveable, sustainable communities and cities, broaden market transformation and increase regional leadership”.
Mr Cartledge will commence the position on 19 September.
