Nik Comito has made the leap from IAG to Bingo Industries, where he will be head of sustainability.

Bingo Industries provides waste management services & recycling centres and claim to go “above compliance” on sustainability, including completing its first Climate-related Financial Disclosure in line with the UN’s Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

It’s currently working on a sustainability-minded “Recycling Ecology Park” at Eastern Creek in Western Sydney, which will be powered by renewables and allow it to recycle a bunch of new waste streams.

Comito has held several high-profile sustainability roles, including as director of environmental sustainability at Optus and environmental integration manager at Australia Post.

Jo Kieboom has taken a role at the Northern Territory government as a senior engineer environmental sustainability at the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.

She’s been working in ESD, energy and climate change since the 90s, with much of that in the Northern Territory.

Robert Mansell has shifted from Hyne Timber to sister company XLam. Hyne Timber is the primary supplier of timber to XLam, which manufactures sustainable engineered timber.

Mansell has taken on a new role in business development as a technical sales representative.

General Motors, the home of Cadillac, Chevrolet and other iconic fuel-guzzling car brands, has appointed its first chief sustainability officer.

Dane Parker will take on the formidable task of driving the American multinational car manufacturer’s sustainability agenda. He’s already made a start in his former role as vice president of sustainable workplaces, where he apparently managed to cut the company’s manufacturing carbon intensity by 20 per cent, ahead of target.
