Property professional Jason Kougellis has been appointed managing director of Savills Victoria.
Mr Kougellis has been in the property industry for more than 20 years, with 15 years at GE Capital Real Estate, where he was managing director – Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
“This is a very exciting appointment for Savills, and we are delighted to be welcoming Jason to the Savills team,” Savills Australia and NZ chief executive Paul Craig said.
“A strong foundation has been built over many years in the Victorian office, and we are very proud of our people and look forward to Jason guiding the business to its next growth phase.”
He said Mr Kougellis’s experience acquiring, managing and divesting over $5 billion of assets gave him “an outstanding level of transactional experience and knowledge of all Australian markets”. His experience with Chinese investment company Fosun also gave him a good understanding of Asian investor appetite, Mr Craig said.
“Savills appealed to me given its extensive history, global reach and unique culture that connects the teams both locally, across the country, and around the world,” Mr Kougellis said.
“It’s evident that Savills has bolstered its global business, particularly in Asia where the business is gaining serious momentum. Australia is certainly benefitting from this commitment to global growth that has been engineered for the global real estate market we now operate in.”
