Esther Bailey is leaving the City of Sydney as sustainability engagement manager to join NABERS as head of market development.

After eight years leading flagship transformation projects such as the Better Building Partnership and the national CitySwitch Green Office program, Ms Bailey is “incredibly excited” to commence her new role in September 2019.

“[It] will allow me to apply my expertise and deep networks to drive down emissions while helping our world-leading industry create even better places for people to live, work and play,” said Ms Bailey.

As head of market development, Ms Bailey and her team are expected to double the number of NABERS ratings while accelerating the uptake of energy, water and waste efficient buildings by promoting the rating tools.

Director of NABERS and building sustainability Carlos Flores said he was “delighted and fortunate to have someone of Esther’s calibre joining NABERS, to help us grow our partnerships and accelerate our positive collective impact”.

Ms Bailey is also chair of the Green Building Council of Australia’s Materials and Supply Chain Expert Reference Panel and sits on the Greenhouse Gas Expert Reference Panel.
