Engineering and science policy think-tank The Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering has appointed Richard Kell as chair.
Mr Kell has led major infrastructure expansions in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands, Malaysia, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia and Vietnam, and was most recently managing director and chair of engineering firm Cardno. He was also president of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers from 2003 to 2005.
Mr Kell was named a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1998 for services to Australia in engineering, particularly bridge engineering and international affairs. He is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and an honorary fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
“We are delighted to have someone with the calibre of global experience as Richard to lead our Board through this exciting time of renewal,” Warren Centre executive director Ashley Brinson said.
“Dick is a deeply respected engineering and business leader with a wealth of experience in major infrastructure projects around the world.”
