Sustainability Programs Coordinator – BBP Term contract is until 30 June 2021

The City of Sydney’s Sustainable Sydney 2030 Plan will enhance the quality of life for residents, workers and visitors through sustainable development of the physical environment, economy, society and cultures with a vision for a green, global and connected city.

The Sustainability Programs Coordinator – BBP is responsible for delivering the City’s flagship Better Buildings Partnership program that facilitates the improved environmental performance of the office sector within the City of Sydney, in line with Sydney 2030. Joining a team of sustainability professionals, you will bring relevant industry knowledge and the ability to foster relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in order to support and encourage businesses to adopt actions that deliver reductions in carbon, energy, water and waste impacts together with a range of financial and productivity benefits.

The role involves coordinating the Sydney Better Buildings Partnership program as secretariat and providing administrative support and project management for identified projects in priority areas like operational waste, leasing, refurbishment waste and benchmarking. The position regularly assesses and reports on performance to ensure the goals of the program are being met, both for internal and external stakeholders.

With a strong focus on commercial office sector environmental sustainability, you will have tertiary qualifications at degree-level in engineering, environmental science or a related discipline, strong communication skills and significant experience in project management, behaviour change programs and stakeholder engagement. Further skills in contract management, environmental performance data analysis and quality assurance are important measures of success for this role.
