Architect and sustainable development advocate Caroline Pidcock has announced she will close her practice PIDCOCK โ Architecture + Sustainability at the end of the year, bringing to an end 25 years of โformal design practiceโ.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ms Pidcock said:
โAs a sole director, I have had an opportunity to reflect over โฆ 25 years of practice, and this has allowed me the privilege to envisage what the next stage will be. I believe it is important to be able to re-create a personal and professional vision for the future and to keep aligning to your joy.
โTherefore, on this high note, I have decided to bring the โformal design practiceโ stage of my creative work to a close. PIDCOCK โ Architecture + Sustainability and the team will be transitioning to a close by the end of 2017 with the completion of our current projects.โ
She said 2018 would be a โexciting new evolutionโ where she would explore a range of new opportunities, including public speaking and writing, tutoring and curriculum development in sustainable design, advisory panels, juries, board positions and collaborations with other architects, consultants and builders.
She said she would also be able to respond to the changing needs of the world through a personal focus on integrated and biophilic design practices, sustainable and affordable approaches to housing such as co-housing, and prefabrication.
