5 May 2014 — Design and engineering consultancy Hyder Consulting has added two new staff to its property sector.

Mohammad Ali has been appointed to Hyder’s property team in Sydney as technical director – mechanical services.

Mr Ali has extensive experience in building services with projects in Australia, UK and the Middle East. His areas of expertise include project management, multidiscipline services coordination, mechanical services design, Green Star and NABERS.

Malcolm McDowall, Hyder’s sector managing director for property, said the company were working to expand their business services team.

“Hyder is investing in the enhancement of our Building Services (MEP) team through appointing individuals with strong knowledge and experience within the industry,” Mr McDowall said. “These senior roles will not only provide our clients with excellent solutions, but will also assist in developing and mentoring the younger engineers in the company.”

Glenn Barton has also been appointed as Queensland structural manager, working across the Brisbane and Gold Coast offices.

Mr Barton has over 20 years’ experience working on large scale projects throughout Australia, with experience in commercial, residential, health and retail projects.
