13 May 2014 — Geoff Culbert has been appointed president and chief executive of GE Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Culbert joined GE in Australia in 2002 and has held several global roles based in Asia over the past seven years. He was most recently vice president and general counsel, GE Global Growth Organisation, where he led a team of over 100 legal and compliance professionals.
“GE has enjoyed tremendous success in this region over the past decade and I see a strong future for growth here,” Mr Culbert said. “This is especially true for our infrastructure technology businesses where we are working closely with our customers and communities in the areas of cleaner energy, resources and healthcare. I am delighted to be returning to Australia for this role.”
Mr Culbert replaces long-term chief executive Steve Sargent, who has been appointed president and chief executive of GE Mining, GE’s global mining technology and services business.
Other recent staff moves include Ben Waters, former local director of GE’s ecomagination program, who left the role for a position with solar company Sungevity.
