Former federal Labor minister Nicola Roxon has been appointed to the board of Dexus Funds Management Limited (DXFM) as an independent director.

Ms Roxon, who will commence on 1 September, was the former health minister most notable for introducing cigarette plain packaging laws, and joins Dexus as it makes a push into the healthcare space with its Australian Healthcare Property Fund.

Ms Roxon currently holds directorships and advisory roles with Cancer Council Australia, bupa, the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board, and the Sir Zelman Cowen Centre at Victoria University.

“Together with my fellow directors, I am pleased to welcome Nicola to the board as part of our ongoing renewal process,” DXFM chair Richard Sheppard said.

“Nicola has more than 20 years’ experience across a variety of sectors and I am confident that she will make a strong contribution to the board.”
