Warren Overton

Former Sustainability Victoria director of business and built environment Warren Overton has been appointed chief executive of Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP), replacing Carmel Dollisson.

Mr Overton has 20 yearsโ€™ experience in the sustainability industry, and before Sustainability Victoria was co-founder and managing director of sustainability consultancy Viridis.

ANZRP chair Mark Mackay welcomed Mr Overtonโ€™s appointment.

โ€œThe board is very pleased to have Warren joining ANZRP,โ€ Mr Mackay said.

โ€œHis exceptional track record in sustainability places us in a very good position to build on the strong foundations that Carmel and her team have built since ANZRPโ€™s inception.โ€

ANZRP operates the TechCollect program, as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme, established by the federal government under the Product Stewardship Act 2011.

Mr Overtonโ€™s priority will be to navigate ANZRP through the current regulatory review of the Product Stewardship Act.

โ€œIโ€™m delighted to be joining ANZRP at this vital time in the companyโ€™s evolution,โ€ he said.

โ€œCarmelโ€™s exceptional work has put us in a great position to expand our operations to achieve the dual outcomes of lower costs to our member companies and better recycling outcomes for the Australian public.โ€

Ms Dollisson, who announced her intention to step down late last year, said she was leaving the company in good hands.

โ€œThis business has been my passion for more than six years, and itโ€™s not going to be easy to leave it behind,โ€ she said.

โ€œIโ€™m reassured by the work the board has undertaken in securing a new CEO, and I look forward to working closely with Warren during the transition period.โ€

Mr Mackay thanked Ms Dollison for her โ€œtireless dedicationโ€ to the body.

โ€œThanks to Carmel we have the benefit of the most orderly of transitions and are well-placed to continue growing our business,โ€ he said.
