Good Environmental Choice is looking for a new chief executive now that’s it gone through the process of redeveloping its blueprint. According to Richard Evans from Talent Nation who is running the search there will be some interesting changes at GECA long known for its green certification work on building materials.

The move was about a taking a “broader view on consumption and consumables and moving into adjacencies of the property sector like residential and hotels.” It could mean adding standards and including areas of interest such as food and retail product. In the interim Ben Waters will extend a temporary role and be general manager while the new CEO is recruited.

Mr Waters said in a letter to stakeholders last week that GECA would  “help companies in all sectors of the economy come up the sustainability maturity curve. We’re aiming for a careful balance between improving and expanding the current eco-labelling business, and building a thought leadership platform with partners to discuss the big sustainable production and consumption issues across all industry sectors.”

ANZ is looking for a Head of Environmental Sustainability, a role which will be part of the company’s ‘super regional strategy’. The position would be in Sydney or Melbourne. The successful applicant will provide leadership and strategic direction on ANZ’s Environmental Sustainability agenda and will develop methods to deliver to ANZ’s environmental targets. The City of Greater Bendigo is looking for an Organics Project Officer to work in the waste services unit. The full time temporary position until December 2016 will involve overseeing the introduction of a kerbside organics collection service to the Greater Bendigo region including an initial trial with approximately 2,500 households followed by a full scale implementation. Responsibilities will include providing face to face support to trial participants. In addition the role will involve developing, implementing and reviewing education materials to support the successful introduction of the service, determining the effectiveness of the trial, surveying trial participants and identifying barriers to the use of the kerbside organics systems by householders.
