Robin Mellon has joined Better Building Finance, part of Sustainable Australia Fund, as part-time NSW program adviser.
Founded in 2015, the organisation facilitates Environmental Upgrade Finance for councils, lenders and businesses, helping these clients “borrow money with very favourable terms so they can upgrade their buildings to save on energy, water and waste”.
Mr Mellon’s new role will involve “connecting councils and projects with a simple, secure way of paying for sustainability improvements to buildings – learning from the growing success of Environmental Upgrade Finance in Victoria and ramping it up for the 129 local government areas across NSW,” he said.
He will work alongside executive manager Shay Singh (previously of New Zealand Green Buiding Council and Sustainable Melbourne Fund) and Sustainable Australia Fund’s Scott Bocskay.
Mr Mellon will continue his Sydney-based sustainability consultancy firm Better Sydney and will continue to be a member of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 Expert Advisory Committee and an advisor at the online sustainability resource provider Supply Chain Sustainability School.
Susan Anderson has been appointed Uber’s regional general manager, North Asia, in addition to her existing role as regional general manager Australia and New Zealand.
This expands Anderson’s responsibilities to encompass Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, where Uber is posing to bring taxis onto the platform “with the help of world class technology”.
Prior to joining Uber, Anderson worked at Bain & Company and Amazon in both operational and leadership roles.
Jamye Harrison has joined Arcadis as the global solutions lead of its Smart Cities team.
This role will see Harrison integrate the company’s design, planning and digital expertise to deliver innovative solutions for building liveable, sustainable and connected places, according to an official statement.
Harrison previously worked as smart infrastructure lead for WSP, where he focused on “the convergence of technology, data analytics and digital operations in transport, energy, water and the built environment”.
Gary Brinkworth will join independent property valuation and advisory company Herron Todd White (HTW) as chief executive officer.
Brinkworth, who is currently CEO of United Petroleum, and will replace HTW’s acting CEO, Jacqui Bayles in early 2020. Bayles will then return to her role as company secretary and general counsel member.
