Building scientist Jesse Clarke has become building science manager at airtightness outfit Pro Clima, following close to eight years with CSR Limited.
Pro Clima develops and manufactures high-performance sealing systems for thermal insulation in construction, and the company’s technical manager Sean Maxwell is a regular contributor to The Fifth Estate.
There will be a large advocacy role to the job.
Mr Clarke said he would work with organisations such as the Australian Building Codes Board, Standards Australia and the Australian Institute of Refrigeration and Heating to advocate for “a holistic approach to the development of industry guidance, standards and codes”.
He said there would be a strong focus on “development of the building code and industry guidance to transition Australia to robust, high performance, highly insulated construction systems and build practices that are capable of managing heat, air and moisture flows within the construction envelope”.
