City of Perth councillor, Curtin University research fellow and co-founder of blockchain company Power Ledger Jemma Green has been appointed chair of Climate-KIC Australia, a non-profit organisation that helps businesses commercialise innovative sustainability solutions.

Dr Green is a sustainability professional with a background in finance and risk advisory, following 11 years working in investment banking in London with JP Morgan.

She is also on the board of WAโ€™s Water Corporation, on the advisory board of 1 Million Women and a board member of Heritage Perth.

โ€œWe are delighted to have someone of Jemmaโ€™s calibre join Climate-KIC Australia and provide leadership to our board,โ€ Climate-KIC Australia chief executive Chris Lee said.

โ€œAs chair, she will be the catalyst to link ideas, commercial know-how and investment capital. I am very excited to begin working with her to bring climate change innovation to market.โ€

Ms Green said she was thrilled to be involved with Climate-KIC.

โ€œI look forward to working towards building cross-sector partnerships around low-carbon innovation to deliver competitive outcomes to the Australian economy,โ€ she said.
