The Senate Economic References Committee inquiry into non-conforming building products has been granted yet another last-minute extension to report. The Inquiry kicked off in June 2015, and was originally due to report in October 2015.

This was extended to 3 December 2015, extended again to 16 March 2016, and now the Senate has granted further time until 10 May 2016.

A spokeswoman for the Senate Standing Committee on Economics Secretariat said the reason for this fresh extension is simply that the committee has not finished writing its report yet.

Itโ€™s certainly had plenty of ground to cover, including the Infinity Cables that sparked the inquiry, the fallout from the Lacrosse fire and non-conforming insulation products.
