The Senate Economic References Committee inquiry into non-conforming building products has been granted yet another last-minute extension to report. The Inquiry kicked off in June 2015, and was originally due to report in October 2015.
This was extended to 3 December 2015, extended again to 16 March 2016, and now the Senate has granted further time until 10 May 2016.
A spokeswoman for the Senate Standing Committee on Economics Secretariat said the reason for this fresh extension is simply that the committee has not finished writing its report yet.
It’s certainly had plenty of ground to cover, including the Infinity Cables that sparked the inquiry, the fallout from the Lacrosse fire and non-conforming insulation products.
