A network of councils pledging to tackle climate change with renewables and other climate tech is looking for another 30 councils to join its ranks.

Cities Power Partnership, launched in July 2017, are provided with access to expert research, learning opportunities and media support to celebrate their successes.

โ€œAny local government that isnโ€™t seriously looking at renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles risks being left behind,โ€ Cities Power Partnership director Alix Pearce said.

โ€œWeโ€™re opening the Cities Power Partnership to a further 30 councils, to meet unprecedented demand, as more and more local governments join Australiaโ€™s renewable energy revolution.

โ€œItโ€™s crucial that councils connect with each other and share knowledge around the work theyโ€™re doing locally to tackle climate change.

โ€œCouncils in the Cities Power Partnership are also finding opportunities to work together on projects, such as electric vehicle superhighways and large-scale renewable energy projects.

โ€œTogether weโ€™re transforming Australiaโ€™s energy landscape, from the grassroots up.โ€
