8 May 2014 โ Energy management software company BuildingIQ and SkyFoundry, owner of SkySpark analytics software, have integrated their technologies to create energy savings for the Mount Pleasant Shopping Centre in Queensland.
The use of the technologies has allowed CFS Retail Property Trust Group, which manages the shopping centre on behalf of a wholesale funds, to optimise performance and create a long-term return on sustainable investment.
BuildingIQโs energy optimisation software, which uses factors such as occupant comfort, utility signals, weather forecasts and building characteristics, will now incorporate SkySparkโs real-time metering data to create a more advanced thermal model of the shopping centre and make automatic adjustments to maximise energy efficiency and create cost savings.
โBuildingIQ and SkyFoundryโs software combined to seamlessly integrate into our propertyโs existing building management system,โ CFX sustainability manager, property Scott Horsnell said.
โThe new automated approach needs minimal input from the facilityโs staff, freeing them up to handle other labour-intensive tasks. We are pleased with the energy efficiency and savings weโve achieved working with these two innovative technologies.โ
President and chief executive of BuildingIQ Michael Nark said the combined technology was like โcruise control for buildingsโ.
โThrough continuous modelling and analysis of the data that is collected from SkySpark, the system is able to make real-time adjustments to Mount Pleasant Shopping Centreโs heating and cooling operations that create verified energy savings,โ Mr Nark said.
โThe simple installation process and ability to utilise existing infrastructure makes it a great solution for retail, office and really any type of space.โ
