Denis Young

Denis Young has been promoted to managing director of multidisciplinary consulting firm Meinhardt.

Mr Young has been the firm’s general manager of the New South Wales operations since 2003, having moved up the ranks at the firm over 35 years continual service since joining as a graduate structural engineer in 1979.

Some of the projects Mr Young has worked on in his career at Meinhardt include project director for Sydney’s Stamford Plaza, Rugby League Central in Sydney, Kuala Lumpur’s Megamall and the Sebel Pier One Hotel.

Mr Young said the firm had many projects currently in construction including skyscrapers in Melbourne and Evolution on Gardiner, an apartment building that will be Darwin’s tallest tower. Projects the company currently has in design stage include the new Australian International School in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“We will continue to diversify our operations, with our land development, infrastructure and environment teams capitalising on more optimistic markets, and also explore other appropriate opportunities, as we continue the evolution of the business going forwards,” Mr Young said.
