FWPA is an industry services company and a not-for-profit organisation which is funded by the timber industry and the Australian Government. It is a values based organisation focused on team work and continuous improvement. Through its WoodSolutions Program, the FWPA aims to deliver free educational information and design assistance to developers, builders, architects, building designers and structural engineers. This initiative will support the recent changes in the National Construction Code to allow for deemed-to-satisfy solutions for massive and lightweight timber construction in classes 2, 3 and 5 buildings up to an effective height of 25 metres.
You will expand the use of wood building systems in mid-rise construction by using your knowledge and technical resources to promote the generic benefits of wood building systems and provide one-on-one project support from design through to construction on a range of issues. You will work as part of an enthusiastic and passionate new team that will shape the future adoption of timber construction in Victoria and Queensland.
An experienced industry professional, you will proactively initiate contact with architects, specifiers, developers and building professionals to positively impact the market share of timber products. Degree qualified in Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying (or with equivalent work experience) you have a proven track record in influencing senior construction industry professionals to adopt new ideas. Recognised by your peers as having exceptional presentation skills you are a self-starter with strong problem solving skills.
The roles are available on a part-time or full-time basis. FWPA is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from a wide range of backgrounds.
