11 March 2014 — SLR, the UK-based privately owned environmental consultancy that absorbed Australia-based Heggies Pty Ltd in 2010 and now has about 200 staff, is on a growth path.

The company recently hired a number of key staff and is now looking for a national sustainability manager to lead its sustainability team.

Recent appointments include Danielle O’Toole as a office manager and technical director for the Townsville office, which has six staff.

Paul Tett has joined as associate consultant in the Mackay office, which also has six staff.

And in Newcastle Marguerite White has joined as principal consultant in the 35-person office.

The company, under SLR Management Ltd, has more than 1000 staff in 67 offices around the globe and 12 in Australia including in Brisbane, Townsville, Mackay,  Darwin, Canberra, Sydney and Perth. There is also a staff member in Singapore.

A spokeswoman for SLR said there are 16 specialties in the firm, including acoustics, inherited from one of the Heggies core businesses. Its work ranges from strategic to site specific for business, regulatory and government clients.
