26 February 2014 – Former director of metropolitan and regional strategies with the NSW government, Norma Shankie-Williams, has joined consultancy AECOM as technical director for NSW and ACT.
Ms Shankie-Williams has more than 20 years of experience with the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure. Shejoined the department in 1991, after attaining a BSc in Geography and Economics from the University of Salford in the UK, and a post graduate diploma Town Planning from Trent University in the UK.
Key planning roles have included with contribution to the Structure Plans and Regional Spatial Strategies in the UK, a series of Regional Strategies in NSW and a key role in the delivery of two successive Metropolitan Plans for Sydney and associated Subregional Strategies.
AECOM design and planning director, Australia New Zealand, James Rosenwax, said Norma would add an edge to AECOM’s offering in the design and planning sphere.
