11 March 2014 — Former National Association of Women in Construction Victoria and Tasmania chapter president Laurice Temple has been appointed as NAWIC’s chief executive.
“We are delighted to announce Laurice’s appointment as NAWIC’s new CEO,” said national president Jane Bateson. “Laurice is a results-driven leader with a proven track record of successful project outcomes, and she joins NAWIC with a deep understanding of our industry and its potential.”
Ms Temple has worked on a range of infrastructure projects including airports, rail, roads and water infrastructure assets, and petroleum and chemicals facilities for companies including BP, Thiess and Bechtel.
Last year she won the Grocon Crystal Vision Award for advancing the interests of women in the construction industry at the NAWIC Victoria and Tasmania Chapter Excellence Awards.
“I am both excited and honoured to be taking up the role of NAWIC CEO, and am looking forward to furthering NAWIC’s ambitious mission to increase the opportunities for women in our industry,” Ms Temple said.
