16 May 2014 — Lara Poloni has been announced as the new chief executive of consultancy AECOM’s Australia and New Zealand operations.
Ms Poloni replaces Michael Batchelor who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities after 25 years with the company, and just 20 months as chief executive.
Ms Poloni, who has been with AECOM for 20 years, steps up from managing director – South Australia.
“It is a great privilege to lead AECOM’s tremendously talented team as we continue to evolve and grow,” Ms Poloni said.
“I look forward to working closely with our clients to successfully deliver projects that are making a difference to our cities’ connectivity, functionality and long-term aspirations.”
Tony Shum, president Asia-Pacific, said Ms Poloni’s experience made her an ideal choice for the position.
“Lara is well-known and respected not just by our own people, but by AECOM’s clients and partners,” he said.
“Her experience in various leadership roles over the years positions AECOM – and by extension our clients’ projects – in safe hands going forward.”
Ms Poloni will be based in AECOM’s Melbourne office.
