Maroondah City Council
Maroondah City Council is also looking for a chief executive officer, to oversee the effective planning and delivery of council activities. In addition to managing the business of council, the role will require managing sensitive political issues, and maintaining strong relationships with state and federal government bodies, community groups and service providers.
The Climate Council
The Climate Council is seeking a research officer for a full-time role in Sydney. The job will entail working closely with the research manager, other researchers and external experts across a broad range of projects producing reputable science resources for the general public. Snowy River Shire Council has a tree change opportunity for a director of community and environmental services. Council are looking for someone with qualifications in environmental health, building, planning, services or management for a full-time role which is heavily weighted towards projects in the social and community development space and the implementation and management of systems for regulatory compliance.
British High Commission
In the lead-up to climate change negotiations in Paris in 2015, the British High Commission in Canberra is seeking to appoint a senior policy adviser – climate, energy, political. The role will involve driving the organisation’s outreach activity on the low carbon transition and energy, providing analysis of key developments and devising and delivering activities which support robust action. The job’s responsibilities will also include working on a wider range of current political issues in Australia and assessing their implications for the UK and for UK government positions. The Greens are hiring, with two roles in Senator Christine Milne’s office, and two for Senator Richard Di Natale. Milne’s office is looking to appoint a director of campaigns and communications on a maternity leave contract to develop and deliver campaigns for the leader of the Greens and Greens MPs; the second position is for a climate change campaigner, who will identify campaign opportunities to progress action on climate change.
Senator Di Natale is seeking a campaigns officer for developing and delivering online and community campaigns, and a policy advisor, a role which will involve travel to Canberra during sitting weeks, managing parliamentary business, liaising with stakeholders, and researching and writing policy briefs. The Indigenous Land Corporation is looking for a project advisor to be based out of the ILC Adelaide Office. The position entails managing land acquisition and land management projects to ensure compliance and sustainable outcomes, reporting, and providing advice to clients, stakeholders and management on issues relating to ILC programs.
