28 August 2013 — Women from across the construction industry have been recognised for their achievements at the 2013 National Association of Women in Construction NSW Chapter 2013 Awards for Excellence.
The awards attracted a record number of 95 entries across 11 categories.
Lend Lease’s diversity manager Sandra Triulzi (formerly of Abigroup) was presented with the prestigious Laing O’Rourke Crystal Vision Award for Advancing the Interests of Women in the Construction Industry.
NAWIC NSW chapter president Angela Ferguson said Ms Triulzi had devoted her 25 year career “to designing, developing, implementing and influencing policy that benefitted women in the workplace, and in particular, women in the construction industry”.
“Sandra has been an influential change agent in our industry, and her work to establish networks and implement supportive policies has had a far-reaching impact on women in our industry,” she said.

Leighton Contractors Award for Achievement in Construction, Refurbishment and Fit Out – Gisela LaPoint, project manager, Schiavello Constructions, for the Department of Finance and Deregulation Project at 1 Bligh Street
Brookfield Multiplex Award for Contribution to a Project’s Development – Mairead Hogan, mechanical engineer, Aurecon, for Tier 1 Data Centres
CB Richard Ellis Business Woman of the Year – Elena Potenza, executive general manager, Strategy and Business Development, Lend Lease
Lend Lease Award for Contribution to Sustainability – Abigail Meddings, senior environmental coordinator, Lend Lease
Now Careers Project Management Award – Cassandra Naccarella, project manager, Stockland
Stockland Award for Achievement in Design – Olivia Hyde, senior practice director, BVN, for the Upper Entry Precinct project at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo
