BRIEF – 16 March 2010 – The City of Sydney will install energy lighting upgrade to 14 buildings in its portfolio in the next two years, expected to save 529 tonnes of CO2 or or the equivalent of removing 118 cars off the road.

The work will be implemented as part of the City’s Building Lighting Efficiency Retrofit Program for Town Hall House, Alexandria Child Care Centre, King George V Recreation Centre, Waterloo Library, and some depots and community centres.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP said: “This project is an important part of our strategy to reduce Council’s overall energy use by 20 per cent by 2012.”
