8 May 2013 — Woollahra council are on the lookout for a new sustainability officer.
The position will play a major part in contributing to the council’s strategic direction by developing projects to deliver sustainable outcomes in the council’s activities and by informing the community about environmental issues.
The position will develop scoping studies and briefs, engage and oversee consultants, carry out research and prepare reports on environmental and sustainability issues, and pursue external funding for projects.
The successful applicant will manage the council’s water, energy and environmental data, and prepare the annual environment report. They will also develop energy and water conservation projects to help the council meet its sustainability targets.
The position will also help council develop a strategic water quality monitoring program, and help drive the actions listed within Woollahra’s environmental sustainability action plan.
The salary range is $70,374.07 to $80,733.38 pa plus super, working a nine-day fortnight.
