30 March 2011 – Consult Australia annual conference, Built Environment 2050: Trends for the Future, is currently under way at Herston, Queensland, ending on 1 April.

A key focus of the conference is to establish measures to protect Australian infrastructure from future climate-induced natural disasters in the built and natural environment, a media statement from Consult Australia said.

Speakers include chief commissioner of the Climate Commission, Professor Tim Flannery, Queensland Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, Stirling Hinchliffe and futurist, Richard Neville.
