8 May 2013 — Allied Timber Products, a Queensland sawmilling company, will use $202,275 of carbon price revenue to reduce energy consumption at Burpengary.

The Federal Government’s Clean Technology Investment Program grant will be used for the installation of energy efficient motors and controllers at the sawmill.

The equipment upgrade is expected to reduce the carbon emissions intensity of the site by about 16 per cent and savings of up to $39,000 in energy costs per year.
