Victorian households and businesses can now enjoy some attractive savings thanks to rebates from state and federal government renewable energy incentives.

Recent additions also include subsidies for businesses, hospitals, local government buildings, aquatic centres, aged care facilities, factories and community organisations with up to $25,000 off the upfront cost of installing a 100 kW system and up to $34,300 off a 200 kW solar system, with discounts available for systems from 30 kilowatt up to 200 kW.

This adds to the Commonwealth Government rebates on solar systems in the 30 to 200 kw range with up to $50,000 savings.

On 3 October, the Victorian government further extended the discount of $34,300 to large commercial and industrial businesses, such as factories, warehouses, and food processors, to install rooftop solar systems from 30 up to 200 kW under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program. It says these businesses account for a third of Victoria’s energy consumption.

Apartment occupants are also putting up their hands for 5000 rebates available the $32 million Solar for Apartments program, for up to $2800 per household or up to $140,000 per building for up to 50 apartments to install solar panels on their rooftop.
