The Victorian Government has announced the second tranche of grant funding for the $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund.
As of Tuesday $6 million has been made available for communities, industry and businesses developing new energy technology projects that will support increased uptake of renewable energy, reduce emissions, and assist community groups to develop their own projects.
Grants of between $20,000 and $1 million are available, with the deadline to apply 1 March 2017.
“We’re putting people first by creating jobs, attracting investment and making our energy supplies cleaner,” Victorian minister for energy, environment and climate change Lily D’Ambrosio said.
The last round had close to 100 applications, with 24 successful application receiving over $5.8 million in grant funding.
“I was encouraged to see such a strong response to the first round of the New Energy Jobs Fund,” Ms D’Ambrosio said. “Victorians are clearly embracing the opportunities that clean energy presents.”
Successful projects from round two of the New Energy Jobs Fund will be announced in mid-2017.
