IN BRIEF: A handy guide has just been released to help Australian property owners choose the right distributed energy solutions to suit their needs.

Developed by the Property Council of Australia and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, the new guide looks at a broad range of technologies, including solar PV, heat pumps and demand management systems, and matches them up to suitable property types.

The guide includes technology options, estimated payback times and capital costs for different locations and building types, case studies, implementation details, and a guide for investigating offsite renewable energy options.

“This guide is about taking the hard work out of switching to clean energy solutions right across the property sector. Whether it’s individual homes, apartment developments or commercial, industrial and office buildings, with the right approach it’s possible to immediately cut energy consumption, cut energy costs and cut energy emissions,” CEFC chief executive officer Ian Learmonth said.
