20 November 2012 โ€” The National Association of Women in Construction is launching a Northern Territory chapter. The first networking event will be held on Wednesday, 21 November. Chief executive officer Sheryle Moon said many women in the Northern Territory were forging careers in the construction industry. โ€œWeโ€™ve established NAWICโ€™s NT chapter to support their career development and encourage more women to enter this challenging and dynamic industry,โ€ she said. NT committee chair Pauline Halse said women had told them they wanted โ€œsupport, networking, mentoring and information sharingโ€. The association will also donate two student memberships to local apprentices or students who will then gain access to NAWICโ€™s mentoring program.
